I went here once and my experience was ok. The prices were way too high for what I got. One pot of tea (it was good), a really small scone that was dry but tasted ok, little amounts of jam and oatmilk. All of that was nearly 20$ for VERY small amounts and an average quality. The place was empty, I thought because it was in the middle of a work day. Despite that I considered going here again since it's the only place in the area that I know about that serves tea (and a lot of different kinds of tea which I like), and has vegan options. But after reading the reviews, a lot of observations fall into places, and I will not be returning until the place changes the owner.

Southern High Tea. Order it. But really, order any of them you won't be disappointed. The fried chicken salad on a buttermilk biscuit is the kind of food that makes you protective of your plate. The herb scone will follow you home in your memory. The tea selection is serious β Thai Ginger and Lemon Moroccan Mint are the standouts, but nothing we tried missed. The space is warm and considered. My 91-year-old grandmother walked in and commented immediately on the shine of the floors. She bought a puzzle from the shop on her way out. That detail matters. Tipple & Rose is Black-owned and woman-owned. Doria Roberts and Calavino Donati built this in Atlanta first β Travel + Leisure ranked it third in the US for high tea β then relocated it to Princeton to be closer to family. Built twice. It shows in every detail. It's rare to find good food, in a beautiful space, run by wonderful people that make you feel both special and like you're old friends. Run, don't walk! 210 Nassau Street, Princeton. Make a reservation.

4/5 because the actual tea service was lovely. All the food & tea was delicious and the buildings decor is perfect for this type of service . But the way the place is ran is chaotic at best & the owner should look into a better POS system like toast to handle all of her reservations and orders etc. because having to place a request for reservation and waiting to hear back from them two days later was uncomfortable. A better POS would take care of all of that. while I empathize with them about only having 2 people working that day - the owner comes off as rude and unwelcoming. But the chef took care of us and was delightful - Definitely the glue holding the place together. But on a positive note, we had good tea, good food, and got to witness some good drama as well and really what more could you ask for then some "tea" with your tea lol. So do I recommend it: yes, but be prepared to give your friends / family a lot of side eyed reactions as well!

My husband and I happened to walk by this lovely establishment on a walk the other day. The owner and associates are just lovely. They were hospitable and the whole business had a warm southern charm to it. We sampled three scones-two savory and one sweet along with clotted creams and jams that were recommended by the chef. We also tried the iced lavender earl grey and iced chais. Everything was excellent. I most definitely will return for tea service and some shopping as well-there is a wonderful shop out front and it would be a perfect place to browse for hours and pick up gifts.

Christmas Tea! We loved it! Beautifully decorated! It's great that they offer vegan and GF menu choices. There's a cute shopping area in the front and an extensive list of tea to choose from. We do decaf so that list was smaller and we were able to make a decision quickly. All staff were friendly and accomodating. We had a tea that you can order daily which included the tea, half of a sandwich, scone with clotted cream & jam, chocolate truffle, and a macaron. It was all delicious! We will be back!
